Creating a large ink painting for LUST

After imprinting my body on the canvas, I added thick bold marks in and around the bodies as if they were contaminating and spreading across the canvas. In a way the bodies have become less distinguishable and lost amongst the other marks which I like because it won't be the first thing someone notices when they look at the painting.

Reflection: I am quite pleased with how the painting turned out as I think it would make a great addition to the set for the Lust themed shoot which I'll be doing later on. The imprints of the body are meant to portray a desire for sensual and bodily pleasures while the meandering marks going in and around the bodies depict contamination. I quite liked using my body as an "anthropomorphic paintbrush" as you can control which parts of the body are imprinted and which parts are not. By only painting over the torso a bit and then applying more on the hips, this emphasises the body's curves and makes the waist appear smaller with wider hips. This process allows you to "distort" your body as you only imprint the parts you paint. I also like the several spots where excess ink has dripped off the body or the paintbrush as they were unplanned and make the painting appear less calculated and more like a piece that has been created out of pure emotion and passion. I wasn't too experienced with using ink in my previous projects however working with it in this project has certainly made me like it more, particularly because of how you can convey certain emotions through your brushstrokes, whether it be anger or sadness, etc. I also liked how you can adjust the boldness and darkness of the strokes by diluting the ink, allowing you to choose which parts of the work you want to be bold and catch the viewer's attention.
